Claire Ryan, BA, BS, MS, NASM CPT, PN1

Personal:

Claire grew up in State College, PA. She found her passion for weightlifting in high school when she started working out in her school’s weight room to get out of the P.E. class requirement. Shortly after graduating high school, she earned her personal training certification from the American College of Sports Medicine. She went on to attend the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, where she earned a B.S. in Food Science and Human Nutrition with a concentration in Dietetics and a B.A. in Sociology. Claire moved to Burlington to pursue a M.S. in Food Systems at the University of Vermont, where she studied access to nutritious foods in rural northern New England. After completing her Master’s, she decided to jump back into the world of personal training by helping people achieve their health and fitness goals at VASTA. Claire stays active by weightlifting, running, and hiking. When she’s not at VASTA, she enjoys watching movies, listening to music, reading, and cooking.
