Michaela Cornbrooks, DPT
Michaela is a native Vermonter, originally from Williston. She attended the University of Vermont, receiving her B.S. in Biology with a focus on Neuroscience. During this time, she was a 4-year member of the Crew team. She took some time off to travel the world, independently backpacking Tour Du Mont Blanc and Vermont’s Long Trail. She returned to Vermont to complete a Doctorate in Physical Therapy, while also completing interdisciplinary training with the Vermont Leadership Education in Neurodevelopmental Disabilities (VTLEND) program. Through Vermont Adaptive, Michaela is an adaptive sports coach through Vermont Adaptive and has dedicated extensive professional and volunteer time to empower individuals with disabilities to build confidence and skill in outdoor sports. She is currently pursuing post-doctoral work with Arcadia University’s Orthopedic Residency program.
Michaela is passionate about manual therapy, evidence-based exercises, and sport-specific movement retraining to treat overuse injuries, optimize biomechanics and guide progressive return-to-sport plans.

Personal: When she’s not in the clinic, Michaela can usually be found with her nose in a book, halfway up a mountain, on a bike, or cooking up something ambitious (and occasionally chaotic) with her friends and partner. She also spends time with Vermont Adaptive and enjoys staying active in her community.
